Faced with chronic staff shortages Shane O’Grady decided to invest in quality accomodation for his core team members in Guys Bar Clifden. Upping the quality of the accomodation is one of the perks he hopes will help attract the top talent to his business. Two apartments were developed, one small studio apartment and one larger one for a couple. In keeping with the Clifden Town Regeneration plans Shane decided to invest properly in the fabric of the property, which faces the previously neglected core of the town, upgrading everything from insulation, heating and interiors to modern standards. I guided Shane on the layout of the two apartments, drawing up proposed layouts, then later providing electrical and mechanical drawings. All at short notice as the summer season approached! With that timeline in mind I specified all IKEA furniture, which made alot of sense, with local trades to install. I tell you what staff accomodation has come a long way since my day!
